For those wanting to know how properly to use this item, please know firstly that I didn't create the mesh and those complaining about an issue pertaining to the mesh should not take it up with me. That being said, there's a trick to this item:
1. Use the Shift and Ctrl keys on your keyboard with the move tool to lower and place furniture in this basement.
2. If you do use the furniture nodes in the basement, make sure the piece you're putting in the basement is LARGER in KB size than the basement is. This means it will load after the basement and have more of a chance to load in the proper place.
The error comes from the basement loading after the furniture you've put within it. Keep that in mind and enjoy decorating!
